MoodMatch is a movie and TV matching app that helps users browse titles, create private matching sessions, and discover shared matches with another person. This Privacy Policy explains what information MoodMatch collects, how it is used, and the choices users have.
When a user creates an account, MoodMatch collects and sends the following information to our server:
MoodMatch does not currently collect a profile photo. Although an Age field may appear in the app, age is not currently sent to the server.
MoodMatch currently supports email and password sign-in. Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in are not currently implemented in the production app.

Solo Browsing Mode swipes are used for local navigation and are not stored on our backend. MoodMatch does not currently offer watchlists or persistent browsing history.
MoodMatch does not intentionally collect precise location, approximate device location, contacts, camera, photo library, microphone, advertising IDs, device identifiers, operating-system metadata, or device model information.
IP addresses may be visible to our backend and third-party services during normal internet communication. Diagnostic logging is used only in development builds and is disabled in production.
Movie and TV metadata is provided through our backend, which uses TMDB. The mobile app communicates with MoodMatch backend endpoints rather than directly with TMDB. Movie discovery requests may include media type, page number, genre IDs, streaming provider IDs, and watch region. These requests do not include personally identifiable information.

When users view trailers through the embedded YouTube player, YouTube/Google may process information according to their own privacy policies.
The current production version of MoodMatch does not include advertising SDKs, tracking or attribution SDKs, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. MoodMatch does not use cross-app tracking or IDFA.
Push notifications are not implemented in the current production release. Although iOS may include a push notification entitlement, no active push notification registration or delivery functionality is currently used.
We use collected information to:
API communication uses HTTPS, and WebSocket communication uses secure WSS connections. Authentication tokens and profile information may be stored locally using standard application local storage. MoodMatch does not currently add an extra encryption layer on top of local storage.
Users can delete their account from within the MoodMatch app using the Delete Account option. Users may also request account and data deletion by contacting us at the email address below.
When an account is deleted, MoodMatch will delete or anonymize account information and associated app data such as profile information, session preferences, swipes, and saved matches, unless retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate operational purposes.
We retain user information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain user accounts, support matching sessions, and comply with applicable legal or operational requirements. Account-deletion requests will be processed within a reasonable period after request verification.
MoodMatch is not directed to children. Movie and TV metadata may include mature titles depending on the content available through the app and user-selected filters.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
